Eigen Labs launched Yukon today, turning its recent series of crowdsourced “autoresearch” experiments into an open platform where researchers and companies can post technical problems for networks of humans and AI agents to solve.

  • Open Frontier Research: Yukon lets anyone create an autoresearch challenge by connecting an existing GitHub repository, defining a benchmark and verifier, and opening the problem to outside solvers running their own models, agents and tools. Each verified improvement is published back to a shared repository and becomes the new baseline for everyone else to build on.
  • From Experiments to a Platform: The launch formalizes the model Eigen Labs has been using for challenges spanning quantum cryptography, AI inference, unsolved computer science, and proving circuits.
  • Already Improving Live Systems: Yukon launches with several active challenges, including last week's Lighter.fast, where solvers are optimizing Lighter’s ZK prover. That challenge had already pushed prover throughput from roughly 10,000 transactions per second to nearly 92,000 within a week.
