The 
Farcaster mini apps scene is booming lately.
And some of the projects picking up the most steam here presently? Onchain tipping apps.
That said, if you’d like to reward solid casts (i.e. Farcaster posts) you enjoy with a pinch of tokens instead of heart emojis, here are three micro-patronage mini apps that are worth checking out today.
Tipn
Founded by kompreni and niftytime, Tipn is currently among the most popular tipping mini apps on Farcaster. In fact, at the time of writing it was the most trending mini app period on the decentralized social network.
Getting started after downloading is simple.
First, set your desired tip amount, e.g. 2 cents, which will be distributed on 
Base to people whose casts you like.
Then set up your like-to-tip limit, which is the total amount of USDC you want to spend on tips, e.g. 100 USDC. Once this threshold is reached, re-up your funds to keep tipping.
As you can see, it's easy to dive in here. But it's also an interesting time to test out the app, as the team just kicked off Season 1 of its Tipn Allocations program, which lets eligible users tip $TIPN directly from the Tipn treasury.
Keep in mind that 1% of the entire $TIPN supply will be airdropped to allocators at the close of Season 1, so consider joining in by getting some tips off and earning eligibility for the weekly allocations.
Noice
Created by tk, div, and srijan.eth, Noice is another tipping mini app that's become popular, currently hovering around the top 5 of the most trending mini apps on Farcaster.
In particular, two nice things about Noice are its expanded feature set and its multichain support.
Instead of just tipping casts that you like, Noice lets you configure tips for recasts, comments, quote casts, and follows across Base or Arbitrum. You're not limited to USDC either, as you can tip from whatever ERC-20 tokens are in your Farcaster (a.k.a. Farplet) wallet.
There are some other additional goodies here, like supertips, which you can use to trigger tips via custom phrases, and delegate tipping, which lets you automatically distribute your earned tips to good causes, like Protocol Guild.
Degen
Spearheaded by Jacek, Degen innovated the treasury-backed tip allowances model that made $DEGEN a sensation on Farcaster.
Now, the team is working on a standalone Farcaster client, the Degen App, that will become the new home for Reddit-style discussions and tipping in the Degen community.
Ahead of that flagship rollout, though, the builders have just launched a dedicated tipping mini app on Farcaster to give $DEGEN users a streamlined HQ in the meantime.
Like the aforementioned mini apps, this one's easy to use too. Just load your Farplet with $DEGEN, approve your tipping budget per like, and customize your default tipping amount to begin.
In the near future, the Degen mini app will take 10% of every tip it facilitates and allocate these funds to a weekly lottery with multiple winners. The more you tip, the more lottery tickets you earn, so it's a neat and simple opportunity to keep on your radar.
