Pump.fun Ditches Relay for In-House Pump Bridge

Pump.fun claims its own crosschain route cut buy errors 92% and halved typical buy times vs. Relay, the provider rival Fomo still uses.

Pump.fun Ditches Relay for In-House Pump Bridge

Pump.fun has made Pump Bridge the default route for crosschain trades in its app, replacing Relay and claiming 2x faster buys, far fewer errors, and better fills than the provider that rival Fomo still relies on.

What's the Scoop?

  • Head-to-Head: Pump.fun states that in a randomized in-app test run Sept. 28 to Oct. 7 across Robinhood Chain, BSC, Base, Arc, and Ink, the typical buy landed in 1.95s on Pump Bridge vs. 3.88s on Relay, and buy errors fell from 11.2% to 0.9%.

  • The Fine Print: Pump.fun claims the gap between spot price and tokens received is ~17% smaller on its bridge, but its own footnote shows the median buy still landed 3.0% below the app's spot price, vs. 3.6% on Relay. It also says Pump Bridge doesn't currently charge additional bridging fees.

  • Where the Trades Are: Pump.fun's self-published speed data shows Robinhood Chain made up ~53% of the 383,326 timed trades and BSC ~39%, a reminder that the Robinhood Chain memecoin meta drives much of the app's crosschain flow.

  • Shots at Fomo: Cofounder alon framed the launch in an X Article titled "How your social trading app has been robbing you.", pitching Pump.fun's 0.45% platform fee as the lowest of any social trading app. It's the latest volley in the Pump vs. Fomo rivalry, coming days after Pump.fun added Hyperliquid perps. Relay and Fomo hadn't publicly responded as of Wednesday evening.
