Kalshi secured an exclusive partnership with CNBC to provide real-time prediction market data across its platforms, building on its recent deal with CNN.

What's the scoop?

  • CNBC Exclusive: Kalshi will supply prediction data for CNBC’s TV, digital, and subscription channels starting next year, with integration into programs like Squawk Box and Fast Money.
  • CNN Partnership: Earlier this week, Kalshi became CNN’s official prediction markets partner.
  • Polymarket Polymarket Partnerships: Rival Polymarket partnered with Yahoo Finance and UFC, saw CEO Shayne Coplan appear on 60 Minutes, and joined Kalshi in Google Finance search result integrations.
  • Combined Volume: Kalshi and Polymarket have generated over $45B in cumulative trading volume this year.

Bankless Take:

As we know, what prediction markets really shine at are the analysis they provide towards political events like elections. Yesterday, in its newsletter, Kalshi wrote about a series of political markets, from the special election which it just resolved to the forecasts for next year's House and Senate breakdown. Given the divisiveness of U.S. politics currently, plus the wake up call which all major news outlets were served via their “forecasts last election,” it seems that both major news networks and Kalshi are gearing up for what they expect to be a busy midterms cycle.
