The token launch is aimed at celebrating and unifying Zora’s ecosystem while reinforcing Zora's lodestar push toward onchain creativity and tokenized content.

So far, Zora has confirmed:

- $ZORA will launch on Base with a 10 billion total supply
- A snapshot for distribution was taken on March 3, 2025, at 9 AM EST, with another one coming three days before the as-yet unannounced launch date
- The token will offer no governance rights and is intended "for fun only and not for investment purposes," i.e. it's a cultural asset

- To date, over 618k creators and 2.4 million collectors have earned more than $27.7 million in ETH rewards through Zora for their onchain activity, with Zora content generating more than $376 million in secondary trading volume up to now 
- Accordingly, a large swath of creatives in the Ethereum ecosystem will have eligibility for the $ZORA airdrop 

## **The allocation details**
The $ZORA distribution basics:

- 35% of the supply will be allocated to incentives (20%), an airdrop (10%), and liquidity (5%), ensuring involvement from early adopters, creators, collectors, and exchanges
- The airdrop, incentives, and liquidity allocations will be immediately accessible, allowing for instant trading
- Considering long-term growth, 20% of the supply will be set aside for a treasury, which will be reserved for community alignment and proliferation efforts—these funds will unlock monthly over four years, starting six months after the token generation event (TGE)
- The team and strategic contributors bloc (44.9% combined) will unlock over three years, also starting six months after the TGE
