WalletConnect is an open-source wallet connection toolkit that allows app developers to seamlessly and securely facilitate connections with their protocols.
Crypto users that scan WalletConnect QR codes when connecting to an application can sign transactions directly from their mobile devices. End-to-end encryption ensures the security of transferred data and private keys throughout the interaction, and app connections are automatically disconnected after as a result of inactivity.
In September, WalletConnect unveiled WTC as the native token of its WalletConnect Network, the progressively decentralized backbone of its UX ecosystem. These tokens can be staked for WTC rewards, and holders have the ability to introduce governance and fee mechanisms at a later date.
