TokenWorks, the team behind PunkStrategy and NFTStrategy, just launched its new TokenStrategy platform today.
This release paves the way for anyone, from solo creators to onchain collectives, to spin up their own "strategy tokens" in no-code fashion.
I've followed the PunkStrategy evolution over the past few months, and the creators have been planning for the platformization of this model from the very beginning. So what started as an experiment around
CryptoPunks has now matured into a permissionless, deploy-on-demand system supporting ERC-721s, ERC-1155s, ERC-20s, and a brand-new category: Recursive Strategies.

What's New
Simply put, TokenStrategy is an onchain platform for creating autonomous strategy tokens.
Every token here has a 10% fee enforced at the contract level through a custom
Uniswap v4 hook. Thus whenever a trade occurs, these tokens:
- Route 8% into their strategy loop (e.g. buying NFTs, or batches of ERC-20s, etc.)
- Send 1% to the NFT collection or fungible token owner, or, in the case of a recursive strategy, to the token creator
- Send 1% to buy-and-burn $PNKSTR, which is the TokenStrategy ecosystem token
All TokenStrategy releases launch with a 1 billion token supply and an initial 99% buy fee that decays to 10% to block snipers. These strategies also don't rely on oracles or offchain dependencies, so they're designed to run forever.
Ethereum deployments are currently supported, but
Base and
Monad are set to be integrated in the coming weeks. To deploy an NFT or ERC-20 strategy, you must own the underlying contract, although anyone can launch a recursive strategy for 0.01 ETH.
What Are Recursive Strategies?
This is the new TokenStrategy primitive. While other strategy tokens are centered around a specific collection or coin, recursive strategies have no underlying NFT or token. They buy-and-burn themselves every 30 minutes as their trading fees accumulate.
In other words, a recursive token is essentially a self-compressing asset whose entire purpose is to shrink its supply over time. We've seen dozens of these kinds of tokens launched on TokenStrategy on day one, so expect many more to pop up over time.

How to Launch Your Own Strategy Token
The new TokenStrategy platform is very easy to use. You'd just follow these steps:
- Go to tokenstrategy.com, connect your wallet, and press the "Deploy a Strategy" button.
- Select your chain (Ethereum only for now).
- Choose your strategy type — NFT (ERC-721 or ERC-1155), Fungible (ERC-20), or Recursive; just remember that for NFT or Fungible strategies, there is a 1 ETH deploy fee and you must own the contract for the collection or the token to launch a strategy. Recursive strategies are open to anyone, though, and the deploy fee is only 0.01 ETH.
- Customize your parameters (i.e. your strategy name, its ticker, and its featured image).
- Deploy when you're ready by pressing the "Deploy Strategy" button — just double check that you have everything set up exactly how you want it first, as you can't make any changes once your strategy is live onchain.

Zooming Out
TokenStrategy is the logical next step in the PunkStrategy arc, shifting the model from a handful of curated experiments to a permissionless launchpad for onchain flywheels.
If you're a creator, in a DAO, or even just a degen with a meme, you now have a straightforward way to activate an autonomous fee machine around the token of your choice. Treat new launches here as experiments in these early days, but even so, this is a resource worth having in your onchain toolbox.
