Privy first introduced embedded wallets in early 2023. After friend.tech integrated them later that year, these wallets have become ubiquitous around the 
Ethereum ecosystem's onchain apps scene.
Why? Simple onboarding. Instead of making users bring their own wallets, which can be daunting for newcomers, projects offer embedded wallets so people can easily spin up new wallets directly in their apps, with no installations or external setups required.
Account abstraction also allows creating and signing into embedded wallets using just an email or via social accounts like Google or X, making it easier for more people to immediately dive into using crypto apps.
All that said, until recently the main downside here was fragmentation—i.e. try multiple apps that use embedded wallets, and you'll be left with multiple wallets to keep track of. This can lead to headaches around forgetting funds, tax reporting, etc.
Fortunately, Privy has created a nice remedy here: Privy Home.
What's it all about?
Last month, Privy introduced the Privy Home beta. It's a streamlined hub for getting a bird's-eye view across all your various embedded wallets.
You can visit the platform and try it out for yourself at home.privy.io. The idea is to link any account you've ever used to create a Privy wallet, after which you'll find all your info neatly compiled in the "Home" and "My apps" tabs.
Currently, you can link your email, SMS, Google, X, and 
Farcaster accounts.
For example, when I connected my email, I saw the $30 I have stored in the NFT minting app Rodeo. But when I also linked my Google and X accounts, I found $500 worth of ETH and SOL that I had totally forgotten about in Sofamon and Yapster.
Not bad!
What's also nice is you can click into any of the apps here and get a breakdown of your wallet address, its exact holdings, basic account info, and all your past transactions. This makes it much easier to track, report, etc. your relevant embedded wallet activities and to top up your funds where needed.
A nice tool to have
This tool tip is for people who have been onchain adventurers over the past couple of years. If you're like me, you probably have a dozen or more embedded wallets at this point and have even forgotten about some of them.
