trade[XYZ] Launches HIP-4 Event Markets

trade[XYZ] launches Events on Hyperliquid via HIP-4, bringing outcome markets for finance, sports, politics, and more into one unified account.

trade[XYZ] Launches HIP-4 Event Markets

Leading HIP-3 deployer, trade[XYZ], officially launched Events, its HIP-4 deployment on Hyperliquid, expanding beyond its offerings from only equity perpetuals into "outcome" contracts too, equivalent to prediction markets.

What’s the Scoop?

  • Events Go Live: The first markets include Up/Down contracts on equities, commodities, and pre-IPO companies, alongside sports markets like picking the winner of a US Open match.
  • HIP-3 Becomes the Resolution Layer: For its initial financial markets, trade[XYZ] is using the prices from its existing HIP-3 perpetual markets to resolve its HIP-4 contracts, rather than relying on a separate external resolution oracle. That means a market on whether SK Hynix finishes above a certain price, for example, can settle against the continuously traded XYZ SK Hynix perp.
  • Toward the Universal Exchange: The bigger idea is to combine Hyperliquid’s growing set of primitives under one roof. As trade[XYZ] puts it, a user could eventually deposit spot BTC, borrow USDC through portfolio margin, trade a pre-IPO SpaceX perp, hedge an SK Hynix earnings event, and bet on a US Open winner from the same account. Hyperliquid’s portfolio margin already unifies spot and perp collateral, while HIP-4 adds outcome markets to that stack.
