Robinhood Robinhood Chain's first burst of real trading activity is coming from memecoins. CEO Vlad Tenev Vlad Tenev leaned into it Tuesday, saying the chain is built for RWAs but "works great for memes too," days after telling CNBC that crypto's future is real-world assets, not endless memecoin creation.

What's the Scoop?

  • The Meme Catalyst: CASHCAT, a memecoin built around Robinhood's early "CashCat" pre-launch naming lore, has become the chain's first viral asset. At time of writing, Dexscreener Dexscreener shows CASHCAT up 10x+ over 24 hours, with roughly a $103 million market cap and about $90 million in 24-hour volume.
  • The Volume Spike: Robinhood Chain's Uniswap Uniswap V3 WETH-pair volume jumped from the low tens of millions per day to $212.3 million on July 8, according to Dune Dune data from "the dashboard guy," Adam.
  • The Serious Stack Underneath: Robinhood Chain is an L2 built on Arbitrum Arbitrum infrastructure, sporting 100ms block times. Robinhood Stock Tokens are live in Robinhood Wallet across more than 120 countries, yet regrettably not in the U.S.
  • DeFi and Agentic Products: Robinhood Earn is rolling out in the U.S., letting users earn on USDG with estimated 7% APY, built on Morpho with support from Steakhouse, Ethena, Spark, and Maple. The wallet also offers Lighter perps access in select jurisdictions, as we discussed last week.
