Kinetiq's Elysium L2 Sets Nov. 9th Mainnet Launch

Kinetiq's Hyperliquid L2 finally has a date, though its HyperCore hooks will arrive a few weeks later.

Kinetiq's Elysium L2 Sets Nov. 9th Mainnet Launch

Elysium, the Hyperliquid-aligned L2 from liquid staking protocol Kinetiq, now has a launch date: the network goes live on mainnet November 9th, per a teaser the team posted this morning.

The announcement comes about eight weeks after Kinetiq first unveiled the chain and four weeks after its public testnet opened.

What’s the Scoop?

  • How it’s built: Elysium is an Arbitrum Orbit chain that settles to HyperEVM and runs on HYPE, bridged 1:1, for gas, so users won’t need a new token to transact. It’s designed as a roomier home for trading apps, launchpads, and proprietary AMMs than HyperEVM, whose small blocks Hyperliquid keeps intentionally tight.

  • HyperCore hooks later: Elysium’s headline feature, letting smart contracts pull live HyperCore market data and route orders onto HyperCore, won’t be ready on day one. Kinetiq’s docs slot it into an ArbOS upgrade roughly a month after mainnet.

  • Early guardrails: At launch, one sequencer orders transactions, a data availability committee posts compact certificates to HyperEVM, and state checks are handled by a whitelisted validator set, with permissionless fraud proofs via Arbitrum’s BoLD promised down the road. The docs also warn that specs and timelines could still shift before mainnet.

  • Inaugural lineup: Elysium’s ecosystem page lists the DEX Nest as set to be live from the first mainnet block, while prediction market app Speculate and DEX Dawn have also committed to mainnet, alongside launchpads like Montra and Citadel. There’s no Elysium token or official points program for now.

  • A new KNTQ revenue line: Half of Elysium’s sequencer fees are earmarked for open market KNTQ buybacks. That matters for Kinetiq, whose TVL sits more than 60% below its October 2025 peak, per DefiLlama.

  • Zooming out: Hyperliquid kept HyperEVM lean so it wouldn’t weigh on HyperCore, which left spot trading and DeFi with little room to grow. Elysium is a wager that a dedicated L2 can soak up that demand and send its winners back to HyperCore.
