HyperStrat Expands HYPE Buying Power to $2.5B
HyperStrat expands its equity facility from $1B to $2.5B, giving the HYPE treasury company more firepower to keep accumulating tokens.
Yesterday Hyperliquid Strategies announced it's giving itself another $1.5B of potential firepower to keep accumulating HYPE (its core strategy) after nearly exhausting its original equity facility.
What’s the scoop?
- More HYPE Buying Power: Hyperliquid Strategies (PURR) expanded its equity facility from $1B to $2.5B. The facility lets HyperStrat sell newly issued PURR shares for cash, which it can then use to buy more HYPE. CEO David Schamis said on Twitter the company is already close to reaching the original $1B limit.
- Already Putting It to Work: As of August 19, HyperStrat had raised $646.6M through the facility and deployed $773.4M to purchase roughly 16.5M HYPE, bringing its total treasury to 29.3M HYPE.
- PURR Performance: PURR has also been ripping, hitting a high over $14 last week, up over 100% since the end of July.
- Revenue Beyond HYPE Gains: HyperStrat also puts its treasury to work, staking substantially all of its HYPE. So far in 2026, it's generated $9.5M from staking and validator commissions, alongside $2.7M in interest income. Its much larger $305.5M net income was primarily driven by $709.9M in unrealized HYPE gains, rather than recurring revenue.

When we originally put this facility in place it had a headline of $1bn (which at the time seemed like an awful lot). We are now close to hitting the $1bn limit, so we have increased the agreement to… pic.twitter.com/OsbcpogT67
