# Hyperliquid Gets Pumpfun Support, Energy Perps Push

Hyperliquid is having a busy Wednesday: HPC and trade[XYZ] asked the CFTC to allow regulated energy perps, Pumpfun added HyperEVM trading, and AQA v2 begins generating USDC yield for HYPE buybacks today.

## What’s the Scoop?
- **Energy Perps Push:** The Hyperliquid Policy Center and trade[XYZ] [filed a joint comment](https://hyperliquidpolicy.org/blog/hpc-and-trade-xyz-ask-the-cftc-to-bring-energy-perpetual-contracts-to-u.s.-markets) asking the CFTC to open U.S. markets to regulated energy perps and 24/7 trading. They also want regulators to allow stablecoins and tokenized assets as collateral and onchain infrastructure for actual trading.  The groups argue these changes can happen without new legislation, building on the CFTC’s [May approval](https://www.cftc.gov/PressRoom/PressReleases/9240-26) of the first U.S. crypto perpetual future.
- **Pumpfun Adds HyperEVM:** [Pumpfun also added HyperEVM support](https://x.com/Pumpfun/status/2092613331299291421), letting users trade any HyperEVM token against USDC directly through its app with near-zero fees. HyperEVM tokens are also eligible for Pumpfun’s new Callout Rewards, which pay users in USDC based on the trading activity their token recommendations generate
- **Buybacks Start Accruing:** Meanwhile, Hyperliquid’s [AQA v2 upgrade](https://www.bankless.com/read/news/hyperliquid-passes-aqa-v2-to-fund-more-hype-buybacks) hits an important milestone today. Starting today, roughly 90% of cost-adjusted reserve yield generated from USDC on Hyperliquid begins accruing to the protocol to buyback HYPE, with the first payment to the Assistance Fund scheduled for October 3.
