Ethereum Foundation (EF), Ethereum has ranked as the top ecosystem for new developer talent through September in 2025.
What's the Scoop?
- Reputable Report: Since 2018, Electric Capital's Developer Report has attempted to quantify the developer activity happening in the crypto ecosystems, with analysis across 200M+ crypto related git commits across 350K+ crypto code repositories.
- Data Dashboard: In 2022, Electric Capital launched a public live dashboard for to track its Developer Report initiative. It tracks the number and types of code commits, pull requests, and other contributions made by developers across various crypto projects.
- EF Analysis: Using data from Electric Capital's dashboard, the Ethereum Foundation found that the Ethereum ecosystem remains home to the largest developer ecosystem and is the choice platform for new developers, with significant margins over the competition.
