Ethereum-based perps exchange Lighter said it launched its new token, the Lighter Infrastructure Token, or LIT, ahead of its long-awaited token generation event. The team framed LIT as a way to better align incentives across its trading platform and underlying infrastructure.

- **Token supply:** 50% of LIT’s total supply went to the ecosystem, including a 25% airdrop for users who took part in Lighter’s first two points seasons in 2025. The team received 26% and investors got 24%, both locked up for a year and then vested linearly over three years.
- **Platform growth:** Lighter recorded nearly $300 billion in trading volume in November and had already expanded beyond perps into spot trading earlier this month.
- **Trading activity:** LIT traded around $2.61 at last check, down from a pre-market price near $3.25.
