ETHBEAT Launches CROPS Guide With Uniswap, Safe, and Tornado Cash
A day after rebranding from L2BEAT, ETHBEAT is grading Ethereum apps on censorship resistance, open source, privacy, and security.
The team formerly known as L2BEAT has a new scorecard, and this time it grades apps. On Thursday (Nov. 5th), ETHBEAT announced that The CROPS Guide is live, a curated list of Ethereum protocols that clear its bars for censorship resistance, open source, privacy, and security, beginning with Uniswap V2, Uniswap V3, Safe, and Tornado Cash.

What’s the Scoop?
New name, wider lens: The Guide arrives alongside Wednesday’s rebrand from L2BEAT to ETHBEAT. The team, data, and Stages framework are unchanged, but coverage now spans privacy, interop, staking, DeFi, tokens, and more. L2 coverage isn’t going anywhere, though ETHBEAT says rollups are “no longer our main focus.”
How grading works: Each protocol gets rated on the four CROPS principles the Ethereum Foundation made core to its Mandate back in March. A single “bad” rating disqualifies a project, and the censorship resistance bar includes a walkaway test: could users still pull their funds even if the developers, the website, and every relayer disappeared? ETHBEAT is clear that its security rating isn’t an audit.
The first four: Per ETHBEAT’s public API, Tornado Cash is the only entry rated good in all four categories. Uniswap V2, Uniswap V3, and Safe score good on three, with privacy marked “fully transparent” since none of them claim to offer any.
Built to plug in: Each review is attested onchain through Ethereum Attestation Service, listed protocols can show a CROPS badge, and wallets can pull the whole list via the open API. Any protocol live on mainnet can apply for a review via ETHBEAT’s forum.
