# Blast L2 Winds Down, Sets Oct. 26th Withdrawal Deadline *Author: William M. Users have until October 26th to move funds back to Ethereum mainnet through Blast's regular interface. # **What’s the Scoop?** - **The timeline:** Withdrawals are paused for about a week while Blast unwinds its Lido positions. After that, they reopen with the usual wait cut to 24 hours. This includes balances held in the Blast web app. - **After the deadline:** Funds left behind aren't lost, but getting them out later means interacting with Blast's bridge contracts on Ethereum directly. That's not beginner friendly, so don't put it off if you need to make the move. - **The fall:** Founded by Blur creator Pacman, Blast drew more than $2B in deposits ahead of its February 2024 mainnet by offering native yield on ETH and stablecoins. Today it holds roughly $32M in DeFi TVL, and $BLAST trades about 98% below its June 2024 peak, per DefiLlama. - **Zooming out:** Blast was the poster child of the points-and-airdrop era of L2s. It showed that incentives can pull in capital fast, but they can't make it stay. It likely won't be the last smaller rollup to run the numbers and fold.
