Is onchain forecasting the future?
Well, that future's seemingly already arrived. And as more people come around to that conclusion, the prediction markets scene will only get hotter.
Right now, it largely feels like a two-horse race with bitter rivals Kalshi and
Polymarket duking it out for market share, high-profile partnerships and oodles of cash from VCs.
Heavyweight Polymarket also just confirmed that a POLY airdrop is incoming. This airdrop will be a whopper that should juice interest across the whole onchain predictions category, so now’s the time to discover the newer players pushing forward here in the shadow of the duopoly.
Today, let's highlight a few upstarts that might be worth keeping an eye on. 👇
💸 Limitless

You might've seen our recent podcast with CJ Hetherington, the CEO of Limitless, regarding Binance's listing fee demands. But beyond this
Binance drama, Limitless is a slick predictions marketplace on Base in its own right.
While Polymarket goes wide with markets across many fields like politics, sports, and culture, etc., Limitless goes tall into short-term "Yes/No" finance and price predictions that are denominated in USDC. Will ETH be above $3,900 on Oct 27th? Will Base's TPS exceed Solana's in 2025? Will the Fed make emergency rate cuts before year's end? These are the sorts of markets you'll find here.
The platform recently released its staking and rewards token, LMTS, via Aerodrome to run its Points Season 1 airdrop claim. However, this S1 airdrop only makes up 2% of the 24% of the total LMTS supply earmarked for ecosystem rewards, and Season 2 is now running through the end of January 2026, so more claim waves are coming for Limitless traders.

🔮 Context

If you traded NFTs between 2022 and 2024, you probably used the NFT minting aggregator mint.fun at least once. Built by the Context team, the platform was awesome, and eventually its tech was acquired by Zora. These days the app's builders are working on the Context predictions marketplace on Base.
Like Polymarket, Context goes broad and covers categories across crypto, politics, news, business, and beyond. But Context's unique wrinkle is that it's powered by AI. When you go to create a market here, you'll be asked 1) what you want to predict and 2) to mention a specific X account or date. After this, Context's AI will draft your market and resolution criteria and lock in on credible sources.
Afterwards you can add USDC liquidity to your market to support more trading and buy "Yes/No" prediction outcomes as you please. Market resolutions are handled by the AI on its own, so you won't need to manually intervene. Context is tokenless, at least for now, though keep in mind there is a weekly USDC rewards pool that distributes rewards based on trading activity.
✨ Myriad

The two aforementioned projects are on Base, which is teeming lately. Yet Abstract also has one of the most interesting app scenes in Ethereum's L2 ecosystem, and among the network's most popular apps currently is the Decrypt-backed Myriad prediction marketplace.
You'll need an Abstract Global Wallet (which you can generate automatically by signing into the Abstract Portal) and some USDC therein to proceed. After your wallet is prepped, you can bet in Myriad's markets, which are spread over 7 categories: Crypto, Sports, Politics, Economy, Gaming, Culture, and Sentiment. There's solid six-figure USDC volume in multiple markets here, too.
However, most interesting of all is Myriad's browser extension. If you activate it, the extension will surface relevant prediction boxes that you can trade through while watching videos or browsing webpages, e.g. a crypto news article, just as you normally would do. Plus, the platform has an ongoing points platform, so make of that what you will! 😉
Zooming out
Limitless, Context, and Myriad are just three of the newer prediction marketplace options that have caught my eye lately.
However, there are new ones arriving every week – each with their own flavor like perps, sports, futarchy, etc. Many of these 200+ platforms haven't been officially launched yet, or remain in invite-only mode, so consider a resource like Prediction Index to help you find and track which projects you may want to check out.
Ultimately, as the POLY drop draws closer, attention, liquidity, and experimentation in this category will accelerate, so make sure to establish a foothold of experience on the frontier here while the winds of change are still churning!
