Base is becoming an increasingly teeming hub for NFT activity. Here are 5 NFT projects I'm exploring on the popular L2 this week.
Powered by the Ethereum Name Service (ENS) tech stack, Basenames is the new native onchain identity system for the Base ecosystem.
The grand idea? Make it easier 1) to send transactions with readable addresses, and 2) to manage and grow onchain profiles on Base. Like on ENS, these profiles are respectively underpinned by unique domain NFTs.
The registration price to mint your profile starts at 0.0001 ETH per year for +10 character names, but registering a coveted 3 character name like "abc.base.eth" would annually cost 0.1 ETH. Personally, I picked peaster.base.eth and paid 0.001 ETH, or ~$2.55 at the current ETH/USD exchange rate.
