# Eigen Labs Launches Yukon for Open AI Research

[Eigen Labs launched **Yukon** today](https://www.yukon.org/), turning its recent series of crowdsourced “autoresearch” experiments into an open platform where researchers and companies can post technical problems for networks of humans and AI agents to solve.

- **Open Frontier Research:** Yukon lets anyone create an autoresearch challenge by connecting an existing GitHub repository, defining a benchmark and verifier, and opening the problem to outside solvers running their own models, agents and tools. Each verified improvement is published back to a shared repository and becomes the new baseline for everyone else to build on.
- **From Experiments to a Platform:** The launch formalizes the model Eigen Labs has been using for challenges spanning quantum cryptography, AI inference, unsolved computer science, and proving circuits.
- **Already Improving Live Systems:** Yukon launches with several active challenges, [including last week's **Lighter.fast**](https://www.bankless.com/read/evolving-lighters-technical-architecture-together), where solvers are optimizing Lighter’s ZK prover. That challenge had already pushed prover throughput from roughly **10,000** transactions per second to nearly [**92,000** within a week](https://lighter.fast/).
