While Eclipse has not confirmed whether it will have a token, one can be expected, as they can serve as tools to decentralizing protocol ownership, a necessary step for any decentralized protocol. Airdrops come with the added benefit of helping to bootstrap ecosystems by attracting new users to a protocol and providing initial ecosystem liquidity; it is highly unlikely that Eclipse will break ranks with precedent set by L2s prior and opts to not airdrop its token.
